Kelly Flanagan
Wiradjuri
Kelly Flanagan is a proud Wiradjuri woman and contemporary First Nations artist living and creating on Wurundjeri Country in Naarm (Melbourne). Her practice is shaped by lived experience, resilience, activism, and truth-telling, using painting, storytelling, and photography to explore themes of identity, healing, justice, and cultural connection.
Having experienced incarceration firsthand, Kelly now uses art as a platform for advocacy and empowerment, amplifying the voices of First Nations women and people impacted by the justice system. Since her release, she has continued to transform her journey through creativity and education, now studying Fine Arts while building a growing contemporary arts practice grounded in strength, survival, and self-determination.
